How to mount a TV on a Brick wall

Introduction

The mounting of a flat-screen TV on a brick wall can be a simple or a very complicated task. We will provide you with some tips and tricks to help you mount your TV on your brick wall.

What is a Brick wall?

A brick wall is simply a wall made from bricks. It has been used for centuries as a building material in construction, and it has many advantages over other materials such as concrete or wood. Brick walls are sturdy, they’re easy to repair and maintain, last longer than other types of walls, and can be customized with different colors and textures. The thickness of the layers that make up the brick walls varies by location, but the common pattern is that there will be an outer layer of mortar between each layer of bricks.

Brick walls are typically made from clay or concrete, though they can also be made from other materials such as stone or glass. There are many different types of brick, including fireclay bricks, sandstone bricks, red brick (also known as burnt red or brown), black brick (also known as burnt black), white brick (also known as burnt white or grey), and blue brick (also known as burnt blue).

Types of Brick walls?

All types of bricks fall under two main categories:  natural and manufactured. Natural brick is a type of brick that has been formed in its current shape by the weathering process. It can be molded into many shapes, but it is not designed to be used as a building material. Natural bricks can be found in most areas around the world, but they may not always be uniform in color or size.

Manufactured brick is created by mixing clay together with other materials such as sand and cement. These materials are then shaped into specific sizes and shapes before being fired at high temperatures in an oven or kiln until the material hardens into what will become your finished product—brick! This process creates a uniform product that can be used over and over again without having to worry about changing its shape or size every time you use it again because it’s already done for you!

Some people may think that mounting a TV on their brick walls is an easy task, but it’s actually quite complicated especially if you are not equipped with the right tools or materials. It’s important to get the right tools for the job and know how to use them properly, these tools include – a TV wall bracket,  a cordless drill with a hammer, masonry drill bits, a level, a permanent marker: anchors or concrete screws, driver bit for your anchor or screws, washers, tape measure, hammer or rubber mallet, small shop vac, safety gear: (safety glasses and a dust mask will prevent dust from entering your eyes and lungs).

TV mounts used for installing a flat-screen TV on a brick wall

There are different mounts used to install a flat-screen TV on a wall, especially a brick wall. With the right tools, the right VESA compatibility, and a TV set, your work should be less complicated.

Flat Mounts

These are the most common type of mount, and they work well for standard flat-panel TVs. They’re easy to install, but they can be prone to issues if you have an irregularly-shaped brick wall.

Tilt Mounts

Tilt mounts are a good option if you want to avoid problems with flat mounts (and also if you don’t want to drill holes in your brick). They allow you to adjust the angle of your TV so it doesn’t overlap with other walls or furniture. You’ll have to use screws because there’s no suction cup included with this type of mount.

Full Motion/Swivel Mounts

Full motion mounts allow you to swivel your TV left and right, which is handy if you want to view it from multiple angles or watch from the couch and also from across the room. This type of mount is also very secure because it has a locking mechanism that keeps it in place when not in use. It comes with a bracket that allows for easy installation on any wall.

Ceiling Mounts

They work well for people who want a small TV that doesn’t take up much space on their wall, but they do require some skill and planning before installation. These are often less expensive than other types of mounts, but they can also be difficult to install correctly due to their height requirement (they must be installed higher than any other type of mount).

Advanced tilt mount

This type of TV mount allows you to adjust the angle of your TV to your preference. It is usually angled at about 45 degrees up from horizontal so that you can view it from either side of the room. This can be a good choice if you have limited space in your living room or bedroom, as it will allow you to fit in more furniture and still have enough room for a large TV.

Single arm mounts

These are simple brackets that are attached directly to your wall—they don’t need any additional parts or tools for installation! They’re great because they allow you to place your TV right where you want it without having to deal with wires or other complications that come with other types of mounts.

Step-by-step guide on hanging your TV on a brick wall

Step 1: Determine where you want the TV on the wall and mark centers as well

The first step to mounting a TV to hardiplank is to survey the wall and take measurements to determine the best position for the TV and mark where you’d like the bottom of the TV to rest.

Also measure out the length of the wall, determine the center and mark it out as well because this is where the center of the mount is going to rest.

Step 2: Fix TV mounting hooks to the back of TV

The next step is to use the right screws to fix the TV mount hooks to the back of the TV and make certain that it is attached securely.

Step 3: Measure distance from bottom of TV to hooks and record value

Measure the distance from the bottom of the TV to the inside curve of the TV mounting hooks and record the number.

Step 4: Measure and mark out mount location

Put tape measure on the wall with one end on the mark we made for the bottom of the Tv in step 1 and the other end measuring out the number we recorded for step 3.

When you’re done measuring out the length, mark the point visibly because this is where the top edge of the Tv mounting bracket is going to sit.

Step 5: Mark out mounting holes

Place either the TV mounting bracket or the Tv mounting bracket template on the wall with the center of the mount resting around the center mark that was made in step 1 and the top edge of the mount resting on the mark that was made in step 4.

The template or mounting bracket must rest on the marks from Step 1 and Step 4 simultaneously.

Mark the holes where the screw will go in 4 places evenly distributed to properly hold the weight of the TV.

These holes are where you’re going to drill in order to feed the anchors into the wall.

Step 6: Feed anchors into pre-drilled holes

Feed anchors into the wall according to the instructions on the box and ensure that they are snug and tight before breaking off the excess depending on what anchor you use.

Re-align the mount again with the anchor holes and screw in the anchor screws into the holes to secure the mounting bracket to the wall.

Ensure that all screws are tightly screwed into the wall.

Step 8: Lift TV into place on mount and secure

With the assistance of someone else, lift up the TV high enough to slide the TV mounting hooks into the wall mounting bracket and ensure that the TV is securely mounted to the wall.

Step 9: Conceal cables

Hide wires as necessary.

After all of these steps have been completed, your TV is ready to be watched and you can rest assured that it is secure enough and your TV is safe.
